Parents of Anorexic Children

Good Morning Friends and Neighbors!

Today i am 119. Gained that pound back. I was quite hungry last night. So i had dinner and snacked all night until i went to bed. Had my 2oz Original Limu today.
I feel Great for the second day in a row. I did take a short nap yesturday, but i figured my body needed the extra rest after minor surgery.
Today i would like to address the Parents and Care Givers of Anorexic children (no matter what age).
As i am going through this mental struggle to eat, i am revisiting my past to find the trigger(s). So a thought came to me today about my own childhood and my parents. Then i am brought back to my life now and my parenting of my two genetically anorexic children.
Even as infants, i was Very concious of how much they ate and when. I was constantly making available the food and encouraging them to eat. As they got older and started to grow taller, i would fill their plate at dinner and eat afternoon snack with them. All good food. Fruits, veggies, lean meats, plenty of PB&J's.
I understood my role as a parent of potentially anorexic children. Meal times were very low key. We do not discuss any heavy stuff. Just the good things from the day. So that they would connect food with feelings of closeness, family, happiness.
Then Original Limu found me. I knew if it could pull me out of the grip of death, then it would do Wonders for my children who eat healthy and were fairly healthy anyway.
Since last year, my 11 yr old daughter has rid her body of Anemia - which she has had for years and was on iron pills at a young age. An Added Bonus - she has not had one ear infection (which plagued her multiple times every year since birth) or strep throat (her ear infections morphed into strep a few years ago) in the last 13 months!
She Loves her juice and always looks forward to her 2oz shots! If i let her, she would drink a whole bottle in a day. Which i will allow when we have more. This O. Limu juice is JUST FOOD. That's all. Just Food.
Understand that as young children we really don't have any control over anything. Then pre adolescence hits. Where you are coming out of girlhood and changing into a woman. (i use the female version of anorexia because i am one. I imagine it is not that much different for boys?)
Then we are watching more mature TV than Sesame Street and Barney. So the young child sees that in order to become a woman, then they must have to look very skinney, because that's what all women look like.
So now, the young child has found a way to control Something - her food intake; good or bad habits -anorexia, bulimia, overeating. All of these are Eating Disorders.
The added bonus for anorexia and bulimia is that you get the skinny body that the boys all like and that is acceptable in this Country.
How sad. Sad that we as a Nation condone this deadly disease. Are not our children more precious than just how much they way and how they can distort their body to be "sexy" which really translates into skinny.
Anorexics do like the attention that they get when people are finally concerned about their weight. However, they Were trying to reach out years earlier, just no one seemed to notice. So, since nobody noticed the 10 - 15 pounds they dropped, they get the reinforcing idea that they are perfectly "normal" and the behavior is categorized now as borderline full blown anorexia. Where the body will take over and you are left Not being able to eat even if you wanted to. This is where the rapid weight loss happens followed by hospitalization and death if left untreated.
Remember Karen Carpenter? Well, she was a great example (however tragic) of a life cycle on Anorexia. Finally her heart gave up. That should have been a wake up call in this country to save our children from this "Disease". But i guess it was swept under the carpet along with all mental illness. Which unfortunately for my Generation X ended up in great numbers suffering from this disease because our parents never talked about this, our parents did not look for these behaviors or see the weight loss.
The parents of the '70's and '80's were caught up in all that sexual revolution so they were more interested in body image. Twiggy anyone?
Today's Parents (the children of the 70-80's Generation X) NEED to be aware of this Disease and the fact that this mental disorder IS Genetic!
Feed Your Children Original Limu and save them from this horrible existence and even harder recovery.
2oz Original Limu 2x daily for prevention saves the victim a lifetime of cure!

Blessings of Peace & Health, Prosperity & Enlightenment!

Barbara A Thornton - Lady Limu
